Mo and Beverly Jo: Clumsy Cat
by Brittny Joy Roberts
Mo is a clumsy cat.
He always slips on the mat.
He is not shy,
Not about that,
He is just a clumsy cat.
“I wish I wasn’t a clumsy cat.”
Mo said when he slipped on the mat.
“I am not shy,
Not about that,
But I wish I wasn’t a clumsy cat!”
Then all of a sudden, Mo heard a sound.
He tried to turn himself quickly around,
But twisted his feet,
Ended up on his seat
Down on the grassy green ground.
A lady named Beverly Jo,
Came over to help little Mo.
They laughed together,
And Mo felt much better,
Then she said “Hello!”
“My name is Beverly Jo.
I’m so pleased to meet you Mo.”
She smiled wide,
Sat by his side,
And they watched the garden grow.
“I am a clumsy cat,
I just slipped on the mat.
I hope you don’t mind
But it happens sometimes.
What do you think of that?”
Beverly Jo looked over at Mo
And said with a smile,
“It’s good to be different from all of the rest
Every once in a while.”
There once was a cat named Mo,
and lady named Beverly Jo.
They loved to play,
In the garden all day.
And now I’ve told you so.

MO and Beverly Jo: Snow Day
by Brittny Joy Roberts
There was a cat named Mo.
His lady was Beverly Jo.
They were going to play,
In the garden all day,
But then it started to snow!
Beverly Jo
Saw her cat Mo
Watching the bright white snow.
He smiled and giggled
Then started to wiggle
And said “Come on, lets Go!”
“Oh no little Mo,
We just can’t go
Outside in this weather.
Let’s think of some things
That we can do
Come on! Let’s be clever.”
“The garden is fun!”
Mo shouted out.
“I like to jump and run!
Outside you see,
My dear Beverly
Is where I have all of my fun!”
Beverly Jo
looked over at Mo
And smiled tenderly.
“Inside can be
Fun too you see,
If you simply believe it can be!
Open your mind and you will find
A place that can be…
Special to you and special to me
That’s the place I see.
Pretend you’re a pilot!
A hero! A pirate!
Pretend you’re tiny horsey!
Pretend you’re a frog!
A rabbit! A log!
Pretend you’re a big ol’ dog-gie!
A lion or tiger or bear
Oh my!
A lion or tiger or bear!”
So that’s what they did.
They played and they hid.
The day it snowed and snowed away.
The day it snowed and snowed.
THE END.
MO and Beverly Jo: The Neighborhood Squirrel By Brittny Joy Roberts
Mo and the neighborhood squirrel
Leap and play and twirl.
The garden is where,
They run and chase
They jump and bounce all over the place!
The squirrel goes high,
Using good sense
Running along the old wooden fence.
Mo goes low,
Under the ferns.
Creeping and sneaking right past the worms.
But the squirrel see’s Mo…and climbs up a tree.
Mo tries to follow
but his clumsy ol’ feet
took over.
Landing him
right
on
his
seat.
The neighborhood squirrel,
Stops in his tracks.
He flips upside down and laughs at the cat!
Mo shakes it off,
And walks away.
But now he seems unwilling to play.
Mo goes ‘round the corner and changes his mind.
He tries to find the best place to hide.
Crouching just so
Waiting down low
Hidden behind the flowerpot row.
He crawls from one
And then to the other
Low-lying lilies provide needed cover.
Then CRASH!
BANG!
BOOM!
The neighborhood squirrel
Peeked out from the bin
And witnessed the cat as he started to grin.
“Maybe we should
If you think we could
be friends, just you and me.
We don’t need to fight
Or bully with might
Give it a chance and you’ll see!”
Mo shook his head
Then quickly said,
“I absolutely agree!
Being friends with you
Has to be safer
Than climbing a silly ol’ tree!”
THE END.
MO and Beverly Jo: The Bee Tree
By Brittny Joy Roberts
When Mo’s all alone
He lies by the stone
Under the busy bee tree.
He sits and preens
While they flap their wings
The bright colored carpenter bees.
Mo licks his paw,
They drill and they saw
Away at the holes in the tree.
The bees don’t play
They work all day
Drilling the tunnels for free.
Beverly Jo
looks over to Mo,
She laughs and taps her knee.
“You silly cat,
Why do you wait
At the foot of that big ol’ bee tree?”
“When bees fly by,
I jump real high!”
Mo said to his dear Beverly.
“I leap off the ground
When I hear the sound
Of the grumbly, rumbly bee!
Bzzzzz…Bzz…Bzzzzz..
you Bizzy Bees
Swarming around
The base of the tree.
You can fly right by
I’ll get you!
I’ll try!
Oh come on!
Won’t
AnyBody
Play with me?
Then one of the bees
Dropped to his knees
He stretched and gave a big yawn.
“We would love to play
but we work all day
While you just lay on the lawn.”
Mo felt bad.
Just like a cad.
“I’m sorry.” He said to the bee.
“I did not know
I guess I should go
Away, from you and your tree.
I wont sit and preen or ever be mean
If that’s what you want, it will be.”
The carpenter bee, looked at the cat
He thought hard about it, then took off his hat.
“My dear feline friend
Won’t you please stay?
We really don’t want
To run you away.
Keep licking your paw
We’ll drill and we’ll saw
It’s for US to work and for YOU to lay.”
So…
Mo laid down
Under the tree
And slept to the sound
Of the Carpenter Bee.

MO and Beverly Jo: The Cat Nap King
By Brittny Joy Roberts
All through the day,
Mo loves to play
And pounce and bounce and sing!
To stay in his prime,
He takes the time,
To visit The Cat Nap King.
The Cat Nap King
Will give you a ring,
When you get sleepy and tired.
Just lie on your bed,
And see in your head
A cat wearing funny attire.
He prances
He dances
He twirls a big ring
He walks
He talks
He’s funny looking!
Polka dot socks
Are tied to his feet
The tail of a turkey is stitched to his seat.
His hair is long
Curly and neat
Resembles the color of bright golden wheat.
He gives you a smile
A sink and pile
Of things he has found on the ground.
A bucket, a mop
A dolly, a pop
A magical merry-go-round!
If you want to know,
Where YOU should go,
To visit The Cat Nap King.
Just close your eyes,
And you will find
Him waiting in your dreams.
Take one hour
To sleep and repower
And visit The Cat Nap King.
Yes only an hour,
To sleep and repower
And Visit The Cat Nap King.
Yes, Visit The Cat Nap King!
Visit The Cat Nap King!
THE END.
MO and Beverly Jo: Lake Wakawooing
By Brittny Joy Roberts
There once was a time,
On a day with sunshine
That Mo went canoeing
in Lake Waka-woo-ing
And boy, he was feeling just fine!
He laid back
and stayed back
And went really slow.
Then others,
Some brothers
Yelled, “Go! Bro! Row!”
Mo looked back behind him
But they were right by him
He felt a big dip,
Then did a big flip,
And fell in the water beside him.
Beverly Jo
Lost little Mo,
In the water, so blue and black.
Then Old Uncle Jim
He started to grin
And said “Would you look at that!”
Mo swam so fast,
That he soon passed,
The Brothers that tipped his canoe.
He said, ”Hello!
My name is Mo.
And I am so pleased to meet you!”
“You tipped me over,
But I learned like Rover
To swim and I’m super happy!
Come over and see,
My friend Beverly,
She’s got some cake and sweet tea!”
“Bravo young Mo!” said Beverly Jo.
“I don’t believe what I see!
“A cat that can swim!”
Said Old Uncle Jim,
“A first even for me!”
When all said and done,
And they’d had all their fun,
Mo fell asleep curled up at her feet
And dreamed of the lake and the sun!
THE END.
“It’s Christmas tree time!
We’re ready to shine!”
Said Mo to his dear Beverly.
“I’ll make this tree
The best you have seen,
In all of our great history!
Oh how exciting!
The goodwill and tidings
That cheer us when we see this tree.
Everyone knows
The beauty it shows
When they come to visit and see.
Our Christmas Tree
Our Christmas Tree,
My how pretty and special are thee.
I love all the lights
How they twinkle so bright
They sparkle and light up the darkest of nights!
Our Christmas Tree
Our Christmas Tree,
My how pretty and special are thee.
This time of year
Is filled with good cheer!
With people we love that we call family.
Sharing and caring
Fill up our days,
Thinking about all the wonderful ways
That we can inspire
While next to the fire
Dancing and prancing, I love holidays!
It’s Christmas Tree Time
It’s Christmas Tree Time!
My favorite time of the year!
Oh how it shines
And sparkles so bright
Bringing good vibes and good cheer!
THE END.
